Woollie Winter is coming................

Woollie Winter means more Baby Lambs of course!

In September 2023 we decided to become Graziers, well sort of. We purchased our ‘starter flock’ of 1 x ram and 4 x lady lambs. We hope the girls become our vineyard lawn mowers and any boys we have will become, ummm, well, racks of lamb, roast lamb, chops, cutlets, lamb steaks, you get the picture. 4 weeks ago our first little lamby arrived a little girl. Stacey has been crazy lamb lady checking on the others waiting for the next little lamby to be born, will be any day now, shorely. Although she has been saying this for a month!

In other news have you seen The Big Red Shed?

If you have been to the region this year (2024) you may of glimpsed our other new addition, the beginnings of our Cellar Door build. The Big Red Shed is up and the internal fitout has begun. We will be offering wine tasting, Grape to Glass experiences, private tasting experiences, winemaker for the day events, and loads, loads more. During construction we will be running a Pop-up Cellar Door on Saturdays (construction permitting) so if you are in region on Saturday’s please drop in for a taste, drink, sticky beak or just to say Hi. We would love to see you and make you part of the very beginnings of the View Wine Grape to Glass Centre.

Winter is only a week away and it is looking like it is going to be a super busy season. Everyone loves to have a log fire, frosty mornings and of course there is always a chance of snow. We just read an article saying Queensland is in for a warmer than usual Winter, although the best weather people also said we would have a dry summer which we did not so working on the theory that the opposite weather will happen Stacey thinks there is a better than average chance of snow this year.

There is a really fun vibe in the region at the moment with several new businesses opening, and new business owners taking over existing operations. Bent Road has opened their distillery as well as a brand new distillery on Eukey Road called Ginyard. The Ballandean Tavern is now the Ballandean Pub. It has new owners who have renovated, upgraded and re-opened the pub earlier this year. Dear Vincent Cellar Door is under construction, so like us they are running a pop-up cellar door (copy cats) on weekends with a food truck called Rosa. This is on St Judes Lane behind the Ballandean Pub. There are 2 other Cellar doors under construction in Ballandean so there is more to come over the next 12 months.

EXCITING TIMES AHEAD
